ROCHELLE — The Cop on a Rooftop fundraiser will be held this week on May 15 from 5 a.m. to noon at Dunkin in Rochelle, where local police will collect donations for Special Olympics Illinois.
Officer James Jakymiw said, “It’s the 23rd year that Dunkin has been working with Cop on a Rooftop. They’ve raised over $11 million for Special Olympics Illinois in those 23 years. But for us specifically, we really enjoy getting a new opportunity to interact with the public and supporting a great cause.”
The event is part of a statewide campaign that has raised more than $11.1 million, with donors receiving coupons for food and drinks.
