Comptroller Mendoza Promotes Small Business Support Programs During National Small Business Week

SPRINGFIELD — Illinois Comptroller Susana Mendoza is urging small business owners across the state to take advantage of state services during National Small Business Week, highlighting programs designed to connect entrepreneurs with state contracting opportunities. Officials said the SMART Business program helps owners navigate certification, procurement systems, and contract opportunities, including assistance with set aside contracts and certification as minority, women, veteran, or disabled owned businesses. The program also provides guidance on registering for the Small Business Set Aside program, using the state BidBuy system, and identifying available contract opportunities through the Illinois Office of Comptroller.
