OREGON — The City of Oregon has approved a temporary closure of Route 2 at Franklin Street for the annual Candlelight Walk carriage ride, scheduled for Saturday, November 29 from approximately 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. The closure will allow carriage rides to safely cross the highway. Police officers and flag personnel will be present to manage traffic and ensure emergency vehicles can pass. Chance D. Munroe, Executive Director of the Oregon Area Chamber of Commerce said that all your favorite activities will be returning.
“This year is Candlelight 39 and we’re really excited for it,” Munroe said. “We’ve got some new things that we’re bringing in this year that we haven’t had before. And of course, we’ve got all the classics that we’ve had, the carriage rides, the cocoa huts, the Christmas tree lighting.”
