The Chicago Cubs won their first game of the season Saturday at Wrigley Field as they beat the Washington Nationals 10-2.
Cade Horton threw 4-hit baseball into the 7th inning and Ian Happ had a 3-run home run.
Miguel Amaya also had a home run and 2 RBI for Chicago.
The Cubs scored 4 runs in both the second and 6th innings for the win.
The rubber game in the series is Sunday afternoon.
The Chicago White Sox are still looking for their first win following a 6-1 loss in Milwaukee to the Brewers on Saturday night.
Garrett Mitchell had 2 hits and scored 2 runs for the Brewers. Christian Yelich also had 3 hits and an RBI.
The only highlight for the White Sox was the second home run for the season by Japan’s Munetaka Murakami.
Sean Burke took the loss.
