BYRON – Byron City officials reviewed updated details for the Wastewater Treatment Plant Project last Wednesday night and the bid from Whittaker Construction & Excavating Inc. totaling $26,580,000. The project includes a 3 percent EPA construction contingency and around $2,669,920 in engineering expenses. The total loan agreement is $31,582,920, with $4,500,000 in possible IEPA principal forgiveness, resulting in a net expected construction loan of $27,082,920. An electrical pole relocation is required from Com-Ed at a cost of $70,000, reimbursable through the loan.
