BYRON — City officials said the annual bulk waste drop off event will not be held this year due to ongoing challenges and are directing residents to use existing collection services instead. The city said past events led to large crowds arriving throughout the day and people scavenging through discarded items, creating difficulties for staff and safety concerns. Officials said the city is exploring other options and will share information if similar events are offered in the area. In the meantime, residents are encouraged to follow yard waste and bulk waste pickup guidelines through Republic Services and can obtain stickers at City Hall to place bulk items at the curb for collection.
