BYRON — Byron City officials will continue to review a resolution on a TIF agreement to support renovations of a new ice cream shop downtown. Owners Pete and Katrina Kirby of Sundae Social outlined plans for electrical, plumbing, and exterior updates, noting costs were higher than expected due to building age and infrastructure needs. They said the business at 114 West Second Street would provide jobs for local youth and create a family-friendly destination, just as their mobile ice cream trailer did last year. The Byron Council will review the TIF, and suggested that design elements may need adjustment before approval to better match the industrial theme of the downtown business district.
