Byron — The Rock River Valley Blood Center is holding a community blood drive today at United Church of Byron, 701 West Second Street in Byron, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The center said it supplies blood for 14 area hospitals and depends on consistent donor participation. Donors are asked to bring a photo ID. Maggie Anderson said summer months can create shortages because fewer people donate while medical needs continue. For more details visit RRVBC.org.
