BYRON – The Byron Fire Department will host a community blood drive Thursday, November 5, from noon to 6 p.m. at 123 N. Franklin St. The event is typically the largest blood drive of the year in Ogle County, and 92 donors registered last year. Residents are encouraged to take part and help support the local blood supply through the Rock River Valley Blood Center.
Maggie Anderson, donor recruiter with the Rock River Valley Blood Center, said, “Blood donations are essential because there is no substitute for human blood when patients need transfusions. Community participation helps ensure blood is available for people who need it, often at the most difficult times in their lives.”
More information about donating is available at RRVBC.org.
