Byron Alderman Mike Gyorkos Dies

BYRON — Alderman Mike Gyorkos, 74, who served on the Byron City Council since 2009, has died. A Northern Illinois University graduate, he worked as a manufacturing engineer at Rockwell International and Hamilton Sundstrand before retiring in 2014. Visitation is Oct. 15 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home, with a funeral Oct. 16 at 11 a.m. at the United Church of Byron.
