(Milwaukee, WI) — The Brewers used a six-run first inning to propel the Brewers to a 9-3 win over the Chicago Cubs in Game One of the NLDS in Milwaukee.
Jackson Chourio went 3-for-3 with one run scored and three RBIs before leaving the game with a hamstring injury. Caleb Durbin drove-in a pair of runs and starting pitcher Freddy Peralta earned the win after tossing nine strikeouts through five-plus innings of two-run ball. The Brewers now lead the best-of-five series 1-0.
Michael Busch, Ian Happ and Nico Hoerner each hit a solo homer in the setback. Matthew Boyd was tagged with the loss after allowing six runs, two earned, in less than an inning of action.
Game Two will be played in Milwaukee on Monday.
