ROCHELLE – A community blood drive will take place today from 12 to 6 PM at Rochelle Community Hospital, 900 N. 2nd Street. The Rock River Valley Blood Center will collect donations. Appointments can be made at RRVBC.org. Maggie Anderson, Donor Recruiter with the Rock River Valley Blood Center, says summertime puts a real strain on their supply of life-saving blood.
“We have a hard time getting donations with all the kids out of school and people are busy and traveling and going out and about,” she said. “So our demand goes up and our supply goes down.”
