Bears Stadium Property Tax Legislation To Get Public Hearing This Week

(Springfield, IL) — Legislation designed to help talks between the Bears and Arlington Heights officials on a new stadium goes before state legislators on Thursday.
The proposed bill will allow the NFL franchise to negotiate its property taxes with local governments.
The measure is House Bill 2789, also known as the Mega Project Assessment Freeze and Payment Law. If the legislation advances, it will be a clear sign that negotiations are moving.
