ASHTON — The Ashton Business Booster Association is sponsoring Halloween events in Ashton on Saturday, November 1, including a costume parade downtown beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Mimini’s General Store on Brown Avenue and ending at the Mills & Petrie Gymnasium on North 1st Street. A costume contest with prizes for first, second and third place in each category and participation prizes for all will start at 3:30 p.m. at the gymnasium. Trick-or-treating is scheduled from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m., and a Tractor-N-Trunk or Treat will be held in the municipal parking lot next to the Ashton Fire Station on Main Street during the same hours. Participants wishing to bring a vehicle can call (815) 973-0207 to sign up.
