CHICAGO — AbbVie plans to invest $380 million to build two new pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities at its North Chicago site, creating 300 full-time jobs. The project will expand production of neuroscience and obesity-reduction medicines and follows a $195 million investment at the location earlier this year. Under the state’s EDGE program, AbbVie has committed to creating at least 350 new jobs in Illinois, where it employs more than 11,500 people. The facilities are expected to strengthen the company’s manufacturing capacity in the state.
