Propane Fire in Sublette Sends Man to Hospital with Critical Burns

SUBLETTE — A 38-year-old man was critically injured in a propane-related workplace incident late Friday morning at a business in the 1800 block of Sublette Road near Woodhaven. The Sublette Fire Department was called to the scene around 11:40 a.m. and found the victim suffering from significant burn injuries. According to the Sublette Fire Department, he was initially taken by EMS to OSF St. Paul in Mendota before being airlifted to OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. The man was reportedly outside the building when the injuries occurred. Nothing else in the vicinity caught fire, and no other injuries were sustained.
