Rochelle to Sell Vacant Property at 1414 Pickwick Drive

ROCHELLE — The City of Rochelle has approved an ordinance to sell the vacant property at 1414 Pickwick Drive, a 0.29-acre parcel previously used as a substation site. Following the recent demolition of the facility and internal review, the city determined the land is no longer needed for municipal use. A Request for Proposals has been prepared, and the City Manager is authorized to complete a sale with the highest qualified bidder. The property is zoned for single-family residential use. City Manager Jeffrey Fiegenschuh said the lot does have a number of utility easements, and could make building a home difficult.
