Rochelle Declares National Public Works Week

ROCHELLE — Mayor John Bearrows has proclaimed May 17 through May 23 as National Public Works Week in Rochelle to recognize the employees and professionals who maintain public infrastructure and city services. City officials said public works employees help operate and maintain transportation systems, water service, wastewater systems, public buildings and other essential facilities. The city said the week also highlights the importance of public works education and awareness within the community. The 2026 observance marks the 66th annual National Public Works Week sponsored by the American Public Works Association.
