OREGON – The Shining Star Children’s Advocacy Center will be opening a new office in Oregon this fall to improve access to services for families in Ogle County. The facility will be located at 1001 Pines Road and will include space for forensic interviews, counseling, and court advocacy services that are currently based in Dixon. Executive Director Jessica Cash said the goal is to remove transportation barriers that can prevent children from receiving follow up care.
“So if you’re familiar with the DHS or public aid offices, veterans office, we’re going to be in that group,” she said, “Our suite there is currently being built. So it’s going to be a little bit before we’re able to move in there probably this fall. But we’re really excited to be able to serve Ogle County residents easier and eliminate some of those barriers for kids.”
