LEAF RIVER — The Rock River Valley Blood Center is holding a blood drive today from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Leaf River United Methodist Church, 104 E. Third St., Leaf River, IL 61047. Donors are needed to help meet the demand for blood products for 14 area hospitals. Maggie Anderson, Donor Recruiter with the Rock River Valley Blood Center, said that blood is a valuable commodity.
“Because blood cannot be manufactured, donations from volunteer donors are the only source for maintaining the regional blood supply,” she said.
Donors should bring a photo ID; appointments are suggested but not required.
