CHICAGO — During National Foster Care Month, Illinois DCFS is highlighting services that help children in care and support foster families. The agency works to keep family and community ties strong and recently launched Emergency Resource Homes to provide short-term placements. Starting July 1, the KIND Act will expand support for relatives caring for children. DCFS also offers financial aid, medical coverage and other resources to help foster families meet children’s needs.
