Dixon Man Charged After Police Recover Stolen Firearm

DIXON — A 26 year old Dixon man was arrested after police said he was making threatening video calls while holding a firearm, leading officers to serve a search warrant on November 14 in the 200 block of Lincoln Way, where they allegedly found a stolen gun and ammunition and learned he did not have a valid Firearm Owner’s Identification Card and was a convicted felon. Andrew J. Keefer was charged with possession of a firearm without a Firearm Owner’s Identification Card, possession of firearm ammunition without a Firearm Owner’s Identification Card, possession of a stolen firearm, and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon. The Dixon Police Department received assistance from the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the Illinois State Police, and the Lee County State’s Attorney’s Office.
