Kaneland High School To Hold E-Learning Day Tuesday Due To Measles Case

KANELAND — Kaneland High School and Fox Valley Career Center students will attend school remotely today as the Kane County Health Department investigates a confirmed measles case. The district said the e-learning day comes as the health department’s vaccination grace period expires Monday while officials work to verify vaccination records for students and staff. The change applies only to students attending Kaneland High School and Fox Valley Career Center. District offices will remain open, and students in alternative programs should follow the guidance of their individual programs. Health officials said measles symptoms can include fever, cough, runny nose, red or watery eyes and a rash, with symptoms generally developing seven to 21 days after exposure. Anyone who believes they may have been exposed should monitor for symptoms and follow instructions from public health officials.
