Mount Prospect Man Identified in Fatal DeKalb County Crash

DEKALB — The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim of Monday’s fatal crash at Route 64 and East County Line Road as 25-year-old Ethan Waratuke of Mount Prospect. Authorities said Waratuke was driving a passenger vehicle when he collided with a westbound car after failing to yield at a stop sign. He was pronounced dead at Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital. Another driver was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The crash remains under investigation by the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office and the DeKalb County Coroner’s Office.
