Dixon Awarded $4.6 Million State Grant for Project Rock Completion

DIXON — The City of Dixon has received a $4.6 million state grant through the Illinois Department of Transportation to complete Project Rock, the final phase of the Riverfront Master Plan. The project includes a pedestrian and bike path bridge over the historic railroad bridge crossing the Rock River, 1.8 miles of new trail connections, and roadway and path upgrades at Page Park. The grant fills a funding gap left by rising construction costs and allows the project to move forward alongside the city’s previously secured $13 million federal RAISE grant. Dixon’s $4.6 million in local funding will now be redirected to future infrastructure needs. The grant was awarded under the Local Program Funding initiative, which supports transportation and safety improvements across Illinois.
