Deer and Turkey Hunting Seasons and Permits Set

SPRINGFIELD — Illinois’ first lottery application period for spring turkey hunting opens Oct. 7 and runs through Dec. 1 for residents. Youth firearm deer hunting season follows Oct. 11-13 for hunters under 18 with proper licenses and hunter safety certification. Fall turkey shotgun season runs Oct. 18-26 with permits available over the counter until the final day or until quotas are filled. Over-the-counter sales for firearm and muzzleloader deer permits begin Oct. 21 at designated agents.
