CHICAGO — A 70-year-old Rockford man is among five people charged in federal court after allegedly assaulting or resisting agents during immigration enforcement operations outside a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Broadview over the weekend. Prosecutors said Dana Briggs of Rockford, made physical contact with an agent while officers attempted to extend a safety perimeter. Four others from Chicago, Oak Park, and Medinah were also charged, with some accused of carrying loaded firearms during the confrontation. All five made initial appearances Monday in federal court in Chicago.
