UTICA — Starved Rock State Park will offer two seasonal programs in October for visitors to enjoy the fall colors and history of the area. On Oct. 11, the park will host the Rise and Shine Leaf Peeping Time hike beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the visitor center, with stops at Lovers Leap Overlook, Eagle Cliff Overlook, and Wildcat Canyon to highlight autumn changes in nature. On Oct. 25, the park will present Ghosts of Starved Rock’s Past, an evening hike featuring stories of historic figures tied to the park. The ghost hike is open to adults and mature youth age 12 and older and requires registration.
