Dixon Residents Receive Award Of Valor For Heroic Actions

DIXON — Two Dixon men were recognized with the Citizen Award of Valor during Monday’s city council meeting for stepping in to stop a knife attack earlier this month. Hayden Sweet and Jeremey Hunter acted quickly to protect others during the September 3 incident, disarming the suspect and preventing further harm despite one of them suffering minor injuries. Police later arrested 27-year-old Ian O. Dunbar, who faces multiple felony charges and remains in the Lee County Jail.
