Fire Damages Davis Junction Home, No Injuries Reported

DAVIS JUNCTION — A fire Sunday damaged a single family home in the 300 block of Winter Rose Circle in Davis Junction, displacing two residents. Lynn Scott Rock Fire Captain John Rimstidt said firefighters were called at about 2:20 p.m. and found heavy smoke and fire coming from the home. The fire was upgraded to a second alarm, bringing assistance from Monroe Center, Rochelle, Byron, Kirkland and Blackhawk fire departments. No residents or firefighters were injured, and neighbors helped get the pets out of the home. The fire appears to have started in the southwest corner of the single story home. The house was left uninhabitable, with most of the physical damage confined to the southern half of the structure. The cause is under investigation by the Illinois State Fire Marshal.
