ROCHELLE — The Lincoln Highway Heritage Festival will return to Rochelle Aug. 14 through 16 at Atwood Park with live entertainment, food, family activities, carnival rides and a fireworks show celebrating America’s 250th anniversary. The 29th annual festival will take place rain or shine and will include a craft and business area, food court, beer garden, kids zone, raffles and other activities. There will not be a parade this year because of downtown Rochelle construction, with organizers expecting the parade to return in 2027.
“This is our 29th annual Lincoln Highway Heritage Festival. We are celebrating our heritage so we’re celebrating the 250th anniversary of the founding of America,” festival representative Heather Simo said.
Activities begin Friday, Aug. 14 at 4 p.m. with carnival rides and Little Miss Peanut at 6 p.m. Saturday’s schedule includes a pancake breakfast, car show, live music, wrestling, vendors and a fireworks display at dusk. Sunday will feature more activities, including a pancake breakfast, carnival rides and entertainment for families.
