ROCHELLE — Ground was broken Thursday on a new touchless car wash planned for a vacant lot on Coronado Drive in Rochelle. The facility, called Clean Getaway, Touchless Express, will feature an in bay automatic car wash, several vacuum stations and monthly memberships. Rochelle Mayor John Bearrows and other city officials were on hand during the groundbreaking, highlighting the investment in Rochelle and the work by city staff to bring the project forward.
Developer Chris Hummel said the car wash is expected to open around mid December or the end of the year. “It’s state of the art kind of stuff,” Hummel said. “I’m expecting on an average day, you’ll get 200 to 300 cars a day coming through here.”
Construction is expected to take about four to four and a half months.
