The funding helps agencies conduct firearm enforcement details involving those under restraining orders, flagged as dangers, or convicted of certain crimes. DeKalb joins other departments statewide in using the funds for compliance checks and safe firearm transfers, with the overall number of checks increasing each year since the program began.
