Illinois to Receive $219 Million in Federal Education Funds After Freeze Lifted

SPRINGFIELD – Illinois will get $219 million in federal tax funds for education after all. Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul said the restoration of the frozen funds was officially confirmed last week. The Trump administration froze the funds in June, but lifted the hold last week. Raoul joined other states in a lawsuit against the freeze.
