BYRON — Work on the new downtown Byron mural is set to begin next week, with preparations underway to prime the exterior wall at 135 North Union Street. The mural, designed by artist Nicole Arand, will feature a postcard-style layout with native grasses, a wild bird, a city map, and the words “Byron Illinois” in bold lettering. The artwork is scheduled to be completed in time for Byron Fest in July.
