Wisconsin Man Convicted Of Attempted Murder In Machesney Park

MACHESNEY PARK –  A Winnebago County jury is convicting a Wisconsin man of attempted murder in Machesney Park.  Meovonte Cooper was also found guilty of aggravated battery with a firearm.  Prosecutors say Cooper was charged after a man was found shot last August in the one-thousand block of Minns Drive.  Investigators learned that Cooper shot the victim as he was sleeping on the couch.  He will be sentenced in May.
