Village of Davis Junction Advances Junction Way Reconstruction Project Contracts Awaiting IDOT Approval

DAVIS JUNCTION – The Village of Davis Junction is moving forward with the Junction Way Reconstruction Project, as contracts have been submitted to the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) for approval. The project will include site work, paving, drainage improvements, and traffic control from IL Route 72 to the end of the cul-de-sac. The village is also proceeding with the Gateway Subdivision project, which is being funded by the Illinois Downtown’s Main Streets Capital Grant.

A minor revision to plans concerning the water main crossing Route 72 has been requested by IDOT, with the village awaiting final plat approval before continuing the bid process. At the Village Administrative Board meeting last month, they noted that the updates to site designs for the splash pad are nearly complete. The project, which is funded through the OSLAD (Open Space Land Acquisition and Development) grant, will provide a number of improvements to the park, including expanded restrooms, adding a fourth ball diamond, and concession facilities.
