US Women’s Ice Hockey Team Advances To Gold Medal Game

(Milan) — The US women’s ice hockey team is officially going for gold. The Stars and Stripes secured their spot in the gold medal game after dominating Sweden 5-0 in the semifinals from Milan.
Abbey Murphy led the way with a goal and an assist. Aerin Frankel turned aside every shot she faced to preserve the shutout.
Team USA has guaranteed at least a silver medal for the fifth consecutive Winter Games. They will play Canada on Thursday.
Tessa Janecke of Orangeville is a member of the USA women’s hockey team. She has 5 assists so far in the games played in Italy.
The US last won gold in 2018.
