WASHINGTON — Rep. Lauren Underwood has introduced legislation that would require federal officials to finalize accessibility guidelines for electric vehicle charging stations within 18 months. The EV Charging Accessibility Act, co led by Reps. Mark Takano and Chuy García, is intended to improve access for seniors and people with disabilities. Underwood said some charging equipment can be difficult to use because it is too tall or heavy. The bill is backed by the American Association of People with Disabilities and the National Disability Institute.
