Two Vehicles Stolen From Mendota Dealership, Corvette Recovered in Chicago

MENDOTA — Two vehicles were stolen from a Mendota dealership early Friday after police responded to an alarm and found broken windows at the business.
Officers with the Mendota Police Department arrived at the 1500 block of S. 13th Ave. at approximately 1:44 a.m. and discovered multiple broken windows leading to the showroom and office area. Investigators determined that a 2025 Chevrolet Corvette was stolen from inside the showroom, while a 2021 Chevrolet Camaro was taken from outside the property. Another 2025 Chevrolet Corvette was also reportedly damaged in the incident.
At around 4:57 a.m., the Chicago Police Department located the stolen Corvette within its jurisdiction. The vehicle was towed and secured for evidence processing.
The incident remains under investigation by the Mendota Police Department and the Illinois State Police.
