Traffic Shift Planned at U.S. 20 and Illinois 73 in Lena

LENA — Traffic on U.S. 20 at Illinois 73 in Lena is expected to shift from a temporary road onto newly built pavement beginning this week, weather permitting. Illinois 73 will remain closed at the intersection and traffic will continue to use a posted detour. The $11.8 million project includes new culverts, turn lanes and improvements extending east to Rees Road. Work remaining at the intersection includes removing the temporary road, completing the Illinois 73 connections, and installing lighting and traffic signals. Illinois 73 is expected to reopen by the end of October, with the entire project expected to be completed in early November.
