- Sex Offender Fails to Register: Ogle County Sheriff’s deputies learned that a registered sex offender was no longer in compliance with registration requirements and began an investigation into David Cramer, 64, of Mt. Morris. Upon completing this investigation, a warrant was issued for Cramer for Failure to Register (Class 3 Felony). On June 1, 2026, at approximately 1300 hours, deputies arrested Cramer on the warrant. Cramer was held at the Ogle County Jail pending a court appearance.
- Possession of Stolen Motor Vehicle: At approximately 0932 hours, deputies located a stolen white 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee southbound on N. IL Route 251 from Winnebago County. Deputies attempted a traffic stop near E. Eddy Road, but the vehicle fled southbound at speeds exceeding 100 mph. The pursuit continued onto E. IL Route 64, southbound in the northbound lanes of I-39, onto westbound E. IL Route 38 through a construction zone, southbound on Dement Road, westbound on E. Creston Road, northbound on Caron Road, and westbound on E. IL Route 38 into Rochelle. The pursuit was terminated, and the vehicle was located unoccupied near 8th Street and 9th Avenue in Rochelle. Jesus A. Castillo, 34, of Chicago, was identified as the driver. Castillo had a suspended license and an active Cook County warrant. Following a review by the Ogle County State’s Attorney’s Office, a warrant was issued for Castillo for Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle. He remains in custody at the Cook County Jail on unrelated charges pending transfer. Deputies were assisted by the Rochelle Police and Fire Departments.
- Theft Arrest: At approximately 0928 hours, deputies responded to a theft in the 4000 block of W. IL Route 64. Following an investigation, on June 9, 2026, at approximately 0900 hours, deputies arrested Richard A. Collins, 32, and William G. Collins, 41, both of Mount Morris. Both were charged with Theft under $500, transported to the Ogle County Jail, and released on a Notice to Appear.

- Two-Vehicle Accident: At 1506 hours, deputies were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident in the 4000 block of S. IL Route 2, Oregon. A southbound white 2018 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Thomas D. Wilson, 79, of Franklin Grove, braked for a turning vehicle and was struck from behind by a 2010 light blue Ford Escape driven by Sara E. Hintz, 20, of Dixon. Wilson was transported to St. Katharine’s Hospital in Dixon for minor injuries; Hintz was uninjured and cited for Failure to Reduce Speed. Deputies were assisted by Oregon Fire/EMS, Byron Fire, and Dixon Rural Fire/EMS.
- Traffic Arrest: At approximately 2143 hours, deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 20000 block of E. IL Route 64. Marquis D. Taylor, 34, of DeKalb, was arrested for driving without a valid license and cited for no rear registration light. Taylor was released on a Notice to Appear.
- Traffic Arrest: At approximately 2308 hours, deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 3000 block of N. Meridian Road. Alicia Rogers, 51, of Stillman Valley, was arrested for driving while license suspended and cited for no front registration. Rogers was released on a Notice to Appear.

- DUI Arrest: At 1239 hours, deputies responded to a report of an intoxicated driver traveling southbound on N. IL Route 251 from E. Lindenwood Road. The driver was located after going off the road just south of E. Hemstock Road on S. IL Route 251. Giovanny Melecio Santana, 33, of Rockford, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, DUI with a BAC Greater than .08, and Improper Lane Usage. He was processed at the Ogle County Jail and released on a Notice to Appear. Rochelle Police assisted at the scene.
- Flee to Elude/Traffic/Warrant Arrest: At approximately 1825 hours, deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 2000 block of W. IL Route 64. The vehicle fled eastbound, leading to a pursuit that ended near Lover’s Lane and Illinois Street in Oregon. Andrew Swift, 39, of Oregon, was arrested for Driving with a Suspended License, Fleeing to Elude, and two active Ogle County failure-to-appear warrants (Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle and Possession of Methamphetamine). Swift was also cited for Improper Transportation of Cannabis, Faulty Muffler, Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle, and Illegal Transportation of Open Alcohol. Swift was released on a Notice to Appear for the new charges and detained on the warrants. Oregon Police assisted at the scene.

- Traffic Arrest: At approximately 0253 hours, deputies conducted a traffic stop near N. IL Route 26 and W. Montague Road near Forreston. A juvenile was arrested for Driving with No Valid License and cited for Speeding and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. The juvenile was released on a Notice to Appear into the custody of a parent.
- Domestic Battery: At 0934 hours, deputies responded to a disturbance in the 1000 block of S. Meridian Road, Chana. Storm J. Harrolle, 18, of Chana, was arrested for Domestic Battery and transported to the Ogle County Jail pending a court appearance.
- Disorderly Conduct: At approximately 1946 hours, deputies responded to a disturbance in the 700 block of Griswold Street in Woosung. At 2013 hours, a separate disturbance was reported in the 400 block of Griswold Street. Following an investigation, Sean A. Maxwell, 38, of Woosung, was arrested for two counts of disorderly conduct and two counts of violation of bail bond. Maxwell was transported to the Ogle County Jail.

- Traffic Crash: At approximately 1341 hours, deputies and emergency crews responded to N. Meridian Road and N. IL Route 2, north of Byron, for a two-vehicle accident. Damarco V. Stokes, 30, of Olney, was traveling southbound in a 2015 Mazda MX-5 and attempted a U-turn, where he was struck by a southbound 2012 Ford Fusion driven by Joscelyn R. Sweat, 22, of Stillman Valley. Stokes was transported to OSF Saint Anthony’s in Rockford with serious, non-life-threatening injuries. Sweat was uninjured. Stokes was cited for Improper U-Turn and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. Byron and Oregon EMS/Fire assisted.

- Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Accident: At 0507 hours, deputies responded to a welfare check in the 10900 block of IL Route 2 N, finding a 66-year-old Rockford male in a ditch who had been struck by a vehicle. The offending car fled but was located in Sterling. Austyn W. Summers, 30, of Rockford, was arrested for Failure to Report a Personal Injury Accident (Class 4 Felony), Leaving the Scene of an Accident Involving Personal Injury (Class 4 Felony), and Failing to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident. Summers was taken to the Ogle County Jail and released on a Notice to Appear. The victim was transferred to a Madison hospital with serious injuries.

- Traffic Arrest: At approximately 0034 hours, deputies conducted a motorist assist in the 5000 block of W. Pines Road, Oregon. Jabari D. Faulkner, 34, of Chicago, was arrested for driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and operating a vehicle with suspended registration. Faulkner was released with a Notice to Appear.
- Two-Vehicle Accident: At approximately 1027 hours, deputies responded to E. IL Route 72 and N. Mulford Road. A southbound Mazda driven by Trina Scott, 56, of Bloomington, stopped at the stop sign and proceeded into the intersection, where it was struck by an eastbound Chevrolet that did not have a stop sign. Scott was cited for failure to yield. Both drivers were evaluated by Kirkland Ambulance, refused treatment, and left the scene uninjured.
- DUI Arrest: At approximately 2152 hours, deputies conducted a traffic stop near N. IL Route 26 and W. IL Route 72. Dominic J. Demichele, 29, of Freeport, was arrested for DUI and DUI with a BAC greater than .08. He was also cited for speeding. Demichele was transported to the Ogle County Jail and released on a Notice to Appear.

- Traffic Arrest: At 0335 hours, deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 11000 block of W. IL Route 72. Dean Holub, 35, of Forreston, was arrested for Driving While License Suspended and cited for no insurance. Holub was released on a Notice to Appear.
- Accident with Minor Injury: At 0742 hours, deputies responded to E. IL Route 72 and N. Park Street in Davis Junction for a two-vehicle accident. A westbound black 2010 Nissan Altima, driven by a 16-year-old juvenile, rear-ended a westbound maroon 2007 Dodge Nitro driven by Randy J. Sanders, 59, of Poplar Grove, which had slowed in traffic. Sanders was transported to Rochelle Community Hospital by Lynn Scott Rock EMS for evaluation. No citations were issued. Lynn Scott Rock Fire/EMS assisted.
- Traffic Arrest: At 1316 hours, deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of S. IL Route 2, Oregon. Muzaliwa Puka, 41, of Rockford, was arrested for Driving While License Suspended and cited for Driving with Suspended Registration. Puka was released on a Notice to Appear.

- Warrant Arrest: At 1455 hours, deputies conducted a traffic stop near E. IL Route 38 and S. East Line Road, Creston. John D. Davidson, 55, of Creston, was arrested on an active Ogle County warrant for failure to appear for Driving with No Valid License. Davidson was transported to the Ogle County Jail.

- Warrant Arrest: At 2010 hours, deputies conducted a traffic stop near W. Mud Creek Road and Katie’s Way in Mount Morris. Skylar Shields, 30, of DeKalb, was arrested on an active DeKalb County failure-to-appear warrant. Shields was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held without bond.

- Traffic Arrest: At 1053 hours, deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 8000 block of W. Pines Road. Jonathon T. Wiggins, 66, of Oregon, was arrested for Driving While License Revoked and cited for Improper Lane Usage. Wiggins was transported to the Ogle County Jail and released on a Notice to Appear.
- Accident with Injuries / Weapon Arrest: At 1247 hours, deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident at N. Junction Road and W. Chicago Avenue (E. IL Route 72) in Davis Junction. A southbound blue 2009 Pontiac Vibe, driven by a 15-year-old Mount Morris male with a learner’s permit, failed to yield and was struck by a westbound red 2012 GMC Acadia driven by Joshua M. Palmer, 31, of Mount Morris. The Pontiac then struck a tree. A passenger in the Pontiac, Gloria L. Weglarz, 70, of Mount Morris, was transported to Saint Anthony’s Hospital in Rockford for minor injuries. Palmer was cited for Illegal Transportation of Alcohol and arrested for Unlawful Use of a Weapon after being found with a loaded handgun without an Illinois Concealed Carry License. He was jailed and released on a Notice to Appear. The 15-year-old was cited for operating an uninsured vehicle and failure to yield. Lynn Scott Rock, Stillman Valley, and Monroe Center ambulances assisted.
Campaign Launch: Ogle County Sheriff’s Office Begins Fourth of July Traffic Safety Campaign
The Ogle County Sheriff’s Office announced plans for a July Fourth traffic enforcement safety campaign focusing on impaired and unbuckled drivers, running from June 19 through July 6.
“We’re asking all of our residents and visitors to celebrate Independence Day safely,” said Sheriff Brian VanVickle. “It’s simple: If you’re driving, don’t drink or use cannabis or other impairing substances.”
The department joins the Illinois State Police and over 200 local agencies in this statewide enforcement effort funded by federal traffic safety funds administered by IDOT.

Dylan Hensley, 29, of Leaf River, was arrested for DUI and DUI with a BAC >.08. He was also cited for improper lane usage and screeching/squealing tires. Hensley was booked at the Ogle County Jail and released on a Notice to Appear.
- Battery Arrest: At 0853 hours, deputies responded to a disturbance in the 200 block of E. 1st Street in Leaf River. Ernest B. Miller, 37, of Leaf River, was arrested for battery, transported to the Ogle County Jail, and released on a Notice to Appear.

- Traffic Arrest: At approximately 0902 hours, deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 2000 block of N. IL Route 2, Oregon. Daniel W. Eddy, 37, of Dixon, was arrested for Driving While License Revoked. Eddy was jailed and released on a Notice to Appear.
- Domestic Battery: At approximately 2312 hours, deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in the 1000 block of Main Street in Leaf River. Timothy R. Ackerman, 47, of Leaf River, was arrested for domestic battery, two counts of aggravated battery to a peace officer, resisting or obstructing a peace officer, and an active Winnebago County failure-to-appear warrant for aggravated DUI. Ackerman was held at the Ogle County Jail awaiting a judge. Mount Morris Police assisted.

- Traffic Arrest: At 0251 hours, deputies conducted a traffic stop on N. IL Route 251 near E. Edson Road, Rockford. Trevell L. Hurd, 26, of Rockford, was arrested for Driving While License Suspended and released on a Notice to Appear.
- Theft Under $500: At approximately 1000 hours, deputies responded to a theft in the 1000 block of N. Limekiln Road. Following an investigation, deputies arrested Shane Cardott, 44, of Oregon, on June 27, 2026. Cardott was jailed and released on a Notice to Appear.

- DUI Arrest: At 1508 hours, deputies responded to Union Street and Chicago Avenue, Davis Junction, to assist Lynn Scott Rock ambulance with an unresponsive subject in a vehicle. Kerry A. Petit, 65, of Stillman Valley, was arrested for DUI and cited for operating an uninsured vehicle. Petit was taken to an area hospital and issued a Notice to Appear.
- Traffic Arrest: At approximately 2101 hours, deputies conducted a traffic stop near S. Ridge Road and W. Pines Road. Jamie M. Trunko, 47, of Mount Morris, was arrested for driving on a suspended license and cited for expired registration and transport of open alcohol. Trunko was released on a Notice to Appear.
- Traffic Arrest: At approximately 2139 hours, deputies conducted a traffic stop near S. Mulford Road and E. Bethel Road. Charlea L. Farthing, 36, of Rochelle, was arrested for driving on a suspended license and cited for operating an uninsured vehicle. Farthing was released on a Notice to Appear.

- Multi-Vehicle Accident with Injuries: At 0812 hours, deputies responded to a three-vehicle accident on the Grand Detour bridge (8000 block of S. IL Route 2). An investigation showed a southbound blue 2011 Nissan Versa, driven by Suleman S. Zeciri, 69, of Oregon, was traveling southbound in the northbound lane. A northbound maroon 2010 Ford Edge, driven by Tamara L. McCormick, 44, of Tampico, swerved into the southbound lane to avoid a head-on collision. The Nissan struck the side of the Ford, spinning it into a guard rail, before the Nissan struck a second northbound vehicle, a silver 2001 Volkswagen Golf driven by Jerry A. Hose, 37, of Oregon, which also hit a guard rail. Zeciri, Hose, and a passenger in the Ford were transported to Saint Katharine’s Hospital in Dixon for minor injuries. Zeciri was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed, Improper Lane Usage, No Valid Registration, and Operating an Uninsured Vehicle. Lee County Sheriff’s deputies and Dixon Fire/EMS units assisted.
- Traffic Arrest: At approximately 1926 hours, deputies conducted a traffic stop near IL Route 38 and Dement Road, Rochelle. Vidal Ramirez Santiago, 23, of Rochelle, was arrested for driving unlicensed and cited for a loud muffler. He was jailed and released on a Notice to Appear.

- Fleeing / DUI Arrest: At approximately 0108 hours, a grey Suzuki motorcycle fled from deputies attempting a traffic stop in the 1700 block of W. Washington Street in Oregon. The motorcycle was located unoccupied a short time later in the 800 block of Franklin Street. The driver, Cody Moser, 27, of Oregon, was located and arrested for aggravated fleeing to elude, fleeing to elude, resisting/obstructing a peace officer, DUI, speeding, and speeding 35+ mph over the limit. Moser was jailed and released on a Notice to Appear.
- Domestic Battery Arrest: At approximately 1124 hours, deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in the 200 block of W. Grant Street in Stillman Valley. Dylan B. Wiltfang, 19, of Stillman Valley, was arrested for domestic battery and held at the Ogle County Jail. Stillman Valley EMS assisted.
- Traffic Arrest: At 1411 hours, deputies stopped a vehicle in the 2000 block of S. IL Route 251. Nicholas Anders, 43, of Rockford, was arrested for driving while license suspended and cited for operating an uninsured vehicle and suspended registration. He was released on a Notice to Appear.
- Warrant Arrest: At 1955 hours, deputies responded to an unwanted subject report in the 7000 block of Clinton Street in Grand Detour. Jason Martinez, 46, of Sterling, was arrested on an active Whiteside County failure-to-appear warrant and held without bond.

- Traffic Arrest: At approximately 0838 hours, deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 4000 block of W. IL Route 72. Gregory L. Ottens, 35, of Morrison, was arrested for driving while license suspended and unlawful use of cannabis by a driver. He was additionally cited for no valid registration, improper use of registration, operating an uninsured vehicle, and no splash guards. He was jailed and later released on a Notice to Appear.
- Domestic Battery Arrest: At 0906 hours, deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in the 3000 block of W. IL Route 64. Fernando Carreno, 48, of Mount Morris, was arrested for domestic battery and jailed pending a court appearance. Oregon and Mount Morris Police assisted.
- Warrant Arrest: At 1733 hours, deputies stopped a vehicle in the 600 block of E. Main Street in Forreston. Haley Thrasher, 37, of Stockton, was arrested on an active Whiteside County failure-to-appear warrant and held without bond. Forreston Police assisted.

- Traffic Arrest: At approximately 2041 hours, deputies conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of Powers Road in Hillcrest. Andre Oliver, 44, of Rockford, was arrested for driving while license suspended and cited for an improper U-turn. Oliver was released at the scene on a Notice to Appear.
- Domestic Battery: At 2256 hours, deputies responded to a domestic disturbance in the 1000 block of N. Limekiln Road. Randall Banister, 43, of Oregon, was arrested for domestic battery and jailed pending a court appearance. Mount Morris Police assisted.

- Traffic Arrest: At approximately 0326 hours, deputies conducted a traffic stop at W. Illinois Route 72 and N. Illinois Route 26 in Forreston. Timothy A. Forney, 32, of Forreston, was arrested for Driving While License Suspended and cited for operating an uninsured vehicle and suspended registration. He was released on a Notice to Appear.
- Battery / Driving Violations: At approximately 1515 hours, deputies responded to a disturbance in the 100 block of Main Street in Leaf River. Jeremy S. Probasco, 38, of Holcomb, was arrested for battery, driving while license revoked, driving with no valid license, and operating an uninsured vehicle. Probasco was transported to an area hospital for treatment and released on a Notice to Appear. Mount Morris Police, Leaf River Fire, and Byron Fire assisted.
- Traffic / Warrant Arrest: At 1516 hours, deputies conducted a traffic stop at S. Rural Road and W. Pershing Street in Stillman Valley. Kaylie N. Barber, 36, of Stillman Valley, was arrested for Driving While License Revoked, Aggravated Driving While License Revoked, and an active Ogle County failure-to-appear warrant for driving while license revoked. Barber was also cited for operating an uninsured vehicle, jailed, released on a Notice to Appear for the new charges, and held on the warrant.
- Traffic Arrest: At approximately 1930 hours, deputies conducted a traffic stop on IL Route 64 near Chamberlain Road. Charl Naude, 29, of Lanark, was arrested for operating a vehicle with no valid license and cited for no seatbelt. Naude was jailed and released on a Notice to Appear. A passenger, Brett Blankenhorn, 34, of Lanark, was arrested on an active Carroll County warrant and held in the Ogle County Jail in lieu of bond.
