Sterling Man Arrested After Fleeing Traffic Stop in Polo

POLO – A 48-year-old Sterling man was arrested on Monday after reportedly fleeing on foot during a traffic stop in Polo. The Polo Police Department says they stopped a vehicle near Congress Avenue and Colden Street in Polo around 3:30 PM. The man was apprehended a short time later and identified as Erik W. Dunaven, who had an outstanding arrest warrant in Whiteside County for resisting or obstructing a peace officer. He was charged with an additional count of resisting or obstructing a peace officer, and transported to the Ogle County Jail.
