ROCKFORD – A 39-year-old music teacher from Lena was indicted last week on several federal child pornography charges, including producing, transporting, receiving, and possessing child pornography. Collin Zier was previously charged in Stephenson County with possession of child pornography following an investigation that began in September 2024 after an Orangeville School District official reported concerns about inappropriate communication between Zier and a student. Zier has been on administrative leave from the district and has been in custody at the Stephenson County Jail since his arrest. If convicted on all charges, he faces up to 80 years in prison and a $1 million fine.
