SPRINGFIELD – Spring outdoor activity begins across Illinois as the Illinois Department of Natural Resources says the spring trout fishing season opens at 58 ponds, lakes and streams statewide. More than 80,000 rainbow trout are stocked annually, and anglers must have a valid fishing license with more information available at ifishillinois.org.
