(Saratoga, NY) — Sovereignty is the winner of the 157th Belmont Stakes at Saratoga Race Course in New York. That means the horse, along with jockey Junior Alvarado, have won two legs of this year’s Triple Crown after their victory at the Kentucky Derby.
Preakness Stakes winner Journalism took second and Baeza took third.
This after trainer Bill Mott opted not to run Sovereignty in the Preakness.
