Ryne Sandberg Rookie Card, Star Wars Items Highlight Illinois Treasurer’s Online Auction

CHICAGO — A Ryne Sandberg rookie card, Star Wars memorabilia, Elvis Presley coins, a rare $50 gold coin, and stamp collections are among 200 lots available in the Illinois State Treasurer’s online unclaimed property auction, running now through June 22nd. Other items include collectible sports cards featuring Ernie Banks, Magic Johnson, and Wayne Gretzky, vintage jewelry and watches, foreign currency, uncut U.S. bills, and silver bars. Items come from safe deposit boxes turned over to the state after years of attempted contact with owners. Proceeds from the auction are held for rightful owners indefinitely.
