ROCKFORD – Illinois’ housing market is off to a strong start in 2025, with both home sales and prices on the rise. The state saw a 7.0% increase in closed sales from January 2024 to January 2025, with the number of transactions rising from 6,983 to 7,471. According to IllinoisRealtors.com, median sales prices across Illinois also jumped 10.9%, reaching $285,000 in January 2025, compared to $256,900 a year earlier. Rockford stood out with a significant 31.4% increase in closed sales, though sales slowed slightly month-over-month, which is typical for this time of year.
