ROCKFORD — A 35-year-old Rockford man is receiving six years in federal prison on drug trafficking and firearm charges. Jovino Ramirez was sentenced after pleading guilty earlier this year to knowingly and intentionally possessing cocaine and methamphetamine with the intent to distribute and possessing a loaded handgun in furtherance of his drug trafficking crime. Prosecutors say Ramirez was found in possession of cocaine and meth during a traffic stop in May 2024, as well as a loaded handgun.
