ROCKFORD — A Rockford man is getting sent to prison for illegally possessing a firearm. Charles Jackson was sentenced to eight years after pleading guilty earlier this year to a charge of illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Prosecutors say Jackson admitted that in May 2022, while fleeing from the Rockford Police Department, he possessed a modified handgun loaded with 25 rounds of ammunition.
